Summer is here!

I know it's been a while since we last blogged but we've both been quite busy these days. But now that winter is finally over there will be many more posts to come! And why not start with a post about plants!

The other day, as I was shopping for some renovation supplies at Home Depot, I came across the plant section and thought I'd take a look around. And to my surprise I found some air plants! that's right AIR.  They're quite the odd looking thing too, and they don't have any roots, which makes them really fun to decorate with since you can basically put them in anything you want. I chose to display mine in a ornate sea urchin. The only maintenance this little guy needs is some water misting twice a week.

A nice way to display succulents is putting them in metallic coloured planters. Or in this case an old vintage tin pot I bought at the Value Village for less then 5$.

Succulents

There's a little outdoor flower shop near my work that I sometimes pass by, and the other day I was stopped in my tracks when I saw the most adorable little succulents I've ever seen! I just had to get some. And lucky for me they were really inexpensive, 10$ for 3 succulents of my choice.

I chose to display them in glass planters and got creative. When choosing flower pots or containers I try  to choose ones that go with the proportions of the plant itself. I added some moss, rocks, and different coloured soil to give it some variety and texture. The containers were quite inexpensive too I'd say the overall look probably cost me no more then 20$ Try and look for glass containers that have a unique  shape in your local thrift shop or even dollar store, that'S where I found mine.

Merry x-mas!

This is a very late post on our Christmas decorations over the holidays. It saddens me that it's already over!
